Just Everyday Life Hey guys, Very soon, a lot of you high schoolers will find  out whether or not youve been accepted into Illinois, and that is a very exciting prospect! This will be the culmination of all of your hard work throughout high school, and whether or not you decide to attend Illinois, you should be proud of yourself. One of the very cool things about being able to attend a university as big as Illinois  is the availability of resources and opportunities that many other schools are not able to boast about. For instance, just today at my internship that the university assisted me in getting, I was able to speak to and interview the Executive Director for the NCSA (National Center for Supercomputing Applications), which is one of the worlds best supercomputer centers! You just cant do things like that everywhere. Image found on skylinepictures.com. On top of all of the opportunities that Illinois  students are able to take advantage of, the ability to be at a large university yet also feel at home within a tight-knit community is rare. The way colleges and majors are grouped here at Illinois, students can really be given a sense of belonging that other large universities cant really compete with. Combine that with the large international community that we have, a strong (albeit currently ailing) tradition in athletics, and  a thriving campus, and you have yourself a place that you can truly call home.  And these are things that we, as students at Illinois, experience here all the time! Well, I hope this was convincing to all of you incoming freshmen, and I wish you all luck in your endeavors, wherever they may be.
